HOW THIS CLASS CAME ABOUT

I took my original CFP class at a gun show and I was surprised how little was involved. Besides the basics of firearm instruction, there wasn’t much in the line of explanation of use of force, how to carry, and how to defend one’s self, other than the use of some overly used slogans or recitation of a line of Utah state law. We never went to the range either. Years earlier when I lived in California, twice I pulled a pistol in self defense and used other weapons in other self defense situations. This CFP class I took would not have prepared me for any of these situations. When I realized this, I decided to become an instructor and address the realistic issues involved when encountering threats to one’s life or well being.
